Alabama, in 2015, passed HJR 112 which called for a convention of states under Article V of the U.S Constitution. They were the 4th state to sign on and jumped on this early. Alaska has passed the resolution calling for a Convention of States! "The Alaska State Legislature supports the proposal and ratification of an amendment to the Constitution of the United States that provides that an increase in the federal debt requires approval from a majority of the legislatures of the separate states ". We still need them to sign on for term limits on Congress and Government Overreach. Currently they are authorizing a delegate to debate and vote on the balanced budget amendment. Florida was the third state to pass a resolution to call for a convention of states with the passing of SM 476. This resolution hits ALL THREE major issues! It is limited to "call an Article V 57 convention for the sole purpose of proposing amendments to the 58 Constitution of the United States which: (a) Impose fiscal restraints on the Federal Government. 60 (b) Limit the power and jurisdiction of the Federal 61 Government. 62 (c) Limit the terms of office for federal officials and 63 members of Congress." Georgia was the first to pass legislation to call for a convention of states back in 2014. That expired last year so they have brought forth Senate Resolution 28 and Senate Resolution 29. Louisiana was the 8th state to pass a resolution calling for a convention of states to amend the constitution. They hit on ALL THREE major issues! Missouri was the 12th state to apply formally for a convention of states to amend the U.S Constitution. HCR 57 hits on ALL THREE major issues. It is "limited to proposing amendments 23 to the United States Constitution that impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit 24 the power and jurisdiction of the federal government, and limit the terms of office for its officials 25 and members of Congress ." Mississippi is the 15th State to join the convention of states. The language in the resolution only hits 2 of the three major issues. They specifically restrict their delegate from voting on term limits for congressional members. It reads " the commissioners from Mississippi to the Convention are expressly limited to consideration and support of amendments that impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, and amendments that limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government, and no amendments on any other topic whatsoever. The Mississippi delegates are hereby instructed not to support term limits for members of Congress." After failing to get the necessary 25 votes in the February, Nebraska Senator Mike Flood courageously pleaded to suspend the rules and which means that LR 14 comes back to life and they actually scored a vote on in the same day which PASSED 5-4 which means it passes through committee! It is ready to be considered by the Unicameral Legislature in Nebraska in January 2022. If it passes there Nebraska will join the 15 other states that have already joined the Convention of States movement!! Update 1/11/2022: By a vote of 32 to 10 LR 14 has passed round one of debates. There are three debates that will take place but keep in mind once the senate passes THAT IS IT! State number 16 is on board! Congratulations to the grassroots folks in Nebraska for the win! We need to convince one more senator to make it filibuster proof! LETS DO THIS!

SJR 41 was passed by the Oklahoma Senate which added them to the list of states that have signed on for the convention of states. The resolution addresses ALL THREE major issues. S 0033 Concurrent Resolution, By Grooms, Rice, Hembree, M. Johnson and Senn. Similar (S 0133, H 3205) House resolution H 3205 has been passed! Senate resolution S 0033 is currently in committee. Tennessee has passed SJR 67 which added them to the list of states calling for a convention of states to amend the U.S Constitution. The bill covers ALL THREE of the Major Issues. Their delegate is "limited to proposing amendments to the United States Constitution that impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government, and limit the terms of office for its officials and for members of Congress." Texas has passed SJR 2 which added them to the growing list of States that have passed resolutions for the calling of a convention of states to amend the U.S Constitution. Utah became the 14th state to pass Convention of States legislation with the passing of SJR 9. This resolution hits on ALL THREE of the major issues being proposed across the nation. The Wisconsin legislature officially passed the Convention of States Resolution in January of 2022, making the Badger State the 16th to call for a Convention of States to limit federal power, spending, and terms of office. "Thank goodness our Constitution has given the states and the people a framework to step in and save the Republic when Congress will not. Today we sent a message that Wisconsin stands ready to rein in federal overreach," said Wisconsin State Senator Kathy Bernier following the historic vote.
